You can with a pair of wire cutters :)

Otherwise you can replace them with non-LED fans with a bit of work. The ones embedded in the drive cages are set in there pretty good with the wires tucked. I didn't look that closely when installing them but it wouldn't be as simple as just removing 4 screws. The back one is easily replaced. Either way, you should be able to sell the 3 old fans for at least as much as you paid for the replacements.

As for noise, I guess its relative but I was extremely surprised by how quiet everything runs. The reason I looked for a case like this to begin with was because of how quiet my Thermaltake Typhoon and Trio's PSU 120mm were. The 5 x 120mms added from this case are slightly louder than the Typhoon's 120mm, but my WD Raptor X is the loudest component in my case by far.

This case is as quiet or more quiet than the Antec Sonata that it replaced. There are 2 120mm fans up front, 1 120mm fan in the rear, and a 200mm fan on top. All fans have 3 speed settings (L,M,H). I have all of my fans on 'L' except the 200mm fan which is set on 'M' because I didn't notice a big difference between low and medium. You can also add an optional 120mm fan on the side (I did not). Air movement is incredible. I can put my arm in front of the case and feel the air being drawn in. That's the good news.

The bad news is this case is incredibly hard to work in/on. The power supply mounts at the bottom meaning your main power cable(s) are going to have to run right across the case (if they reach at all). The case moves air well but all of those fans require power cables. Don't forget your DVD, HD, floppy, etc. In my situation I've got 3 HD's and my motherboards SATA connections are toward the bottom of the board so that adds to the cable mess. I got everything installed and tied away as best as possible but it's still a mess. I hope I never have to add/remove anything! :p

*sigh* Another week, another incredible Antec deal at Frys. I now have a P150, a Solo, and this one on the way. Guess I'll need a P180 to finish it off. Oh, and these are to replace a Sonata II I have sitting around... Yeesh.

If only my 2 week backordered Badaxe 2 from Microcenter would ship, I could stop changing my mind and buying cases. :(

What am I supposed to do with all these cases and no need for more than one PC?! :p

I was going to wait on buying a case for a new rig, but this is just too good to pass up. A darn nice looking case and a hell of a deal. I caved :(

Here's a solution if you're handy with a Dremel.

The manual for the 900 lists the fans as being 24-25 decible on the lowest setting.

I don't really care for its looks, but the case looks to be a nice cooling box. Would it offer definitely better temp than Praetorian?

Absolutely. That CM Praetorian has all 80 mm fans

Anyone with this case have problems installing the power supply? A review on newegg said this case was tight. I have a Thermaltake W0106RU.

Wow, I paid around $90 for this case last year. I love the case but I wish it were wider so that I could hide cables more easily.

xified,
I had no issues fitting my PSU but I'm using an Antec 500W unit.

Wow Bryan, thanks for the link. I will be modding my case the minute is arrives. It might be months before I put anything in it, but there are some great ideas in that thread.

Those interested in this case for a new case build and care about cabling/airflow/aesthetics:
a modular PSU with braided wires goes a long way. My wiring is pretty tidy but there's tons of unused wires coming out of my TP-650W and they're not braided so it looks a bit messy. If I knew I was moving into this case I would've spent the extra $50 or so for a modular case with tidy wires.

Antec is good with their rebates imho. I also had some issues with my P180 case, warped front door, one of my usb ports broke and two of my 120mm fans were failing. I sent them an email and they sent me all new parts in just a few days. Make sure you open a service ticket with them.

Just received it today and boy is it big, black, and beautiful. Didn't realize how monstrous the 200mm fan really was.

does this get loud with all those fans?

... and
- are the hd cages removable?
- does it have fan filters?

thanks ~
