Antec 900 case USB ports won't charge phone

I have an Antec 900 case and it has 2 USB ports and 1 Firewire port on the top of it. Now, I have a USB cable that hooks into my iPhone and I usually charge it that way.

However, as of late my PC will detect the iPhone and even show its plugged in, but it simply won't charge it? I plugged the cable into my laptop and it will charge of that USB port. I have no idea why this Antec 900 case USB port won't charge the iPhone?

Any ideas?

I had an issue where my motherboard would not power the USB ports if I had the voltage set to +5. It has a jumper that is used to set the voltage for waking from sleep, and I guess it has to be set not to in order for the ports to work. Strange though, because the ones on the back of the mobo have that jumper set, and they work fine.

Some older Antec 900 cases had issues with the front USB connection. Mainly due to inadiquate grounding. I have had constant problems in the fall when i get close to the conectors i give it a static shock which shuts the computer down.

I ended up using the USB port on the side of my Dell LCD. I guess I will just make a mental note not to use the front USB for charging anything.....I think it may be grounding related because the problem seems to be intermittent and that definitely fits the profile.
