Antec 830sx; 4 - 5.25 ext drive bays?!

jaybert: yes it is possible. You can get the extra cage and holder from Antec (should be in the $20 range) and then just tap two holes and pop in some rivets. If you can't rivet, you should be able to bolt the thing in with the bezel off. A worthwhile idea if you need the extra drive space. But if you are stacking in that many drivers, the old 300 watt power supply might not be strong enough dependant upon what those drives are and what else is in your system. I'm stressing the word MIGHT.

I will only be running 2 HDs right now. One of them is a 1.6" scsi drive which is freakin huge. It will take up at least 2 3.5" slots, maybe 3. That means I cant add anymore HDs in. I just want to have it in case I want to put another scsi drive in (another 3 bays).

Let me rephrase that: yes the 830 can accept two removeable 3.5" drive cages without modification! I've got two in mine.

BTW, removed the bezel and checked the metal frame on my 830, noted that has the same punchouts for the lower 3.5 ext drive bays as the 1030. 1030 & 830 are the same cases with different bezels!

yours came with an extra slideout tray? Where did you purchase it from? I got mine from directly from antec @ the retail price (I didnt price shop...my bad mistake :/)

My 830sx came with two cages out of the box. I didn't purchase a second cage. But I think I know where to spend that spare $20.
