well, i've been having a lot of issues with my system so i called asus tech for some help. first off, let me say that the lady that i talked to was RUDE, BRIEF, and RUDE! BAD customer service. i told her that my cpu temps were off the charts and she asked me if i had it overclocked. i told her no. she tells me to set everyhthing to default. well, they are. i also tell her that i keep getting a "fan speed too low" error and she says that my power supply was not sufficient enough to power my MB. what do u guys think?

CPU- AMD 3800+
GPU- Asus 7800GT
MB- Asus A8N-SLI Premium
PSU- Antec 550
RAM- Corsair 2GB
ThermalTake Heatsink

thats pretty much it. so would an antec 550 not be enough power? i've ran this system for over two years without any problems. all my problems came after i reformatted my pc.

How old is that PSU?

Have you tried reseating your heatsink, cleaning out the dust, and using fresh thermal paste? Also, is the fan on the heatsink working properly, what RPMs is it reported running at?

I think formatting is just coincidence, reformatting your PC won't make your CPU run hot.

yeah, her rudeness got me off the phone quick. i wasnt gonna waste my time with someone who didnt want to help.

i've re-seated my heatsink. new paste. dusted. the pc will turn on sometimes and sometime it wont turn on. i've noticed that when my ram sticks dont light up, my pc wont power on. well, it powers, but doesnt boot. when my ram sticks light up, my pc boots, but it freezes. i can only get past the post screen and thats about it. im not even sure what rpms are at. all it says it that the "fan speed is low." i've tried to dis-able the fan sensors, but the pc still shuts down after that. i've contacted corsair and they've been helpful enough to replace my rams for free. gotta love their support. ill wait until i get the new rams and then troubleshoot the system again.
