Im putting together a new pc as I find deals i like and bit on a r9 280. Issue is I dont have any other new parts yet to test it before return periods run out. If I remember how the amps and everything work it does have enough amps to take care of the card right? Or am I remembering wrong and the amps are not added together for 44 total. Im using a old 100w fm1 apu and ssd with 2 case fans so theres not much else drawing power

You have two rails at 264w each and a total of 444w. I'm not that bright on power supplies, but from what I understand, each rail should handle 264w, and together they shouldn't go above the 444w rated. So if you stuck a 200w gpu and a 100w cpu on the same rail (hypothetical and shouldn't happen at all), your psu will shut down, or if you fully load both rails above 444w it will shut down.

In your case, your gpu really shouldn't exceed 230w. TDP is 250w but it will generally draw lower unless you overclock. You really should be fine with what you have. Your cpu and any other components drawing from the 12v rail will likely go on the separate one from your gpu.
