Add me the to list of people who had this unit fry recently... I purchased it on 9/6/05 and it lasted until 11/12/06... I've had enermax that lasted 4 years... I would not buy this power supply again if I had the choice, I expect atleast 2 years of trouble free service from a PSU...

Hmmm, lets see. I can save a few dollars on the PSU an have it run for 6 months and hope it doesn't fry the rest of my computer when it dies or I could spend a few extra dollars and get something reliable and efficient like a Enhance ENP-5150GH.

Tough choice there...

It would in fact be a touch choice, since enhance isnt really one of the premium brands that gets tossed around on these forums ;)

OCZ, Fortron, PC P&C, Seasonic and a few others.

Oh really?

The 5150GH and this Silverstone are the same unit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a...56-008&CMP=KNC-overturesmx&ATT=product

One of the best quality psu's you can buy.....

Exactly. Enhance doesn't have much name recognition since they don't sell many PSUs in the retail sector. They are mainly sold to OEM and/or rebadged for other companies (like Silverstone).

Furthermore, some of the more recent OCZs and Fortrons have been going out of spec in terms of ripple (see Jonnyguru's site where he tests them) when they are under a heavy load which is great for the life span of your components. Don't confuse a price premium with premium quality.

Anyway, I hope the rest of your 12K posts are a little better informed than that one Acanthus. ;)

I know, those rippledeaths(tm) are all over the forums.

Teh RIPPLEZ IS KILLING MY HARDWAREZ!

Really though, if we want to talk about retarded trivial subjects and less popular brands, be my guest. I promise you I am well informed about what i speak.

Well if you say it, it must be true... I mean you have 12K posts!!! Ripple will slowly kill your hardware. It won't be a catastrophic failure like when this Antec goes, but it isn't healthy. Luckily, most of the people getting the 700W OCZ won't put it under a heavy load at any point since they don't need anywhere near 700W (or even 600W for that matter) so they won't have any problem with the PSU. They just spent more money for something they don't need and if they ever do need it, it will cause problems...

Anyway, at least we can all agree that this Antec is crap.

Yes, with its 3 reviews at the busiest E-tailer for computer hardware, they must be extremely popular...

Oh brother......................

Good deal!
But I can't justify spending $70 after $40 MIR for a PSU, no matter how good it is.

I've had one of these units since last summer (~$70 from Newegg) running nearly 24/7 and it hasn't gone bad yet (knock on wood), solid as a rock. No "high-pitched squeal," voltages have been pretty consistent. Ended up moving it over to a second machine to make way for a GameXStream.

Wish the SP-2.0 had more cabling, though. Second machine's LANParty board only has three out of the four power connectors plugged in.
