Antec 300w PSU "thermal" fan?

Today I was looking behind my computer to admire the shiny steel slot covers I bought from CompUSA yesterday. Well, I noticed that the fan in my Antec PSU was spinning slowly. ~1500 rpms. Now I noticed on the website that it has a "thermal" controlled fan. I was wondering if there a way to make it spin at MAX power. My rig is pretty noisy so I don't mind the extra noise. I just want it to run cool. Any advice?

yeah, but you need to void the warranty on the PSU.

rip the cover off, take the fan off (usually, it can be unscrewed, or just slid out), and snip off anything that doesn't look like a power connector (most likely the power connector is a two-pin jobbie).

you'll have to solder it to your PSU's 12v line, though.

i'd think that if it doesn't need to spin full speed, then let it spin at whatever speed it's at. otherwise, to increase airflow, add additional intake and exhuast fans and get yourself a nice big antec case (like the performance plus series) if that isn't what you have already.
