Antec 300 - WC loop done

OK, finally got my first loop up and running...waiting on second pump + male QDC's for my main rig, this is my test rig, haha. Cost was less then $200, and I was able to cool the CPU + NB.

I have a NB heatsink that someone fabed themselves, which is working really slick, but kind of brutal mounting.

Otherwise, my temps are definitely lower on full load, so I am happy with that.

40C on full load, which used to be well into the 55-60 range. Now my MB temp is always below 40C, which used to be around 60 (very hot NB on this p5n-d board).

Whoa that's a nasty kink. Put some extra tubing on it and loop it around or buy some 45deg barbs.

Otherwise good job.

I am going to buy 2x45 degree barbs, but it's actually working really well, with the kink + 4 90degree barbs in it already!

Looks like you're kinked on both ends in that first pic. I would definitely do something different with that. took me a little while to realize that was outside the case. I'd get some elbows myself.

I had a different issue with my loop, I had gotten 1/2 id and 5/8 od and the run from the cpu block to the res collapsed along the whole length. replaced with some thicker walled tubing and I'm good to go, just need to get a bigger rad.

Yeah, and if I fix that kink with some 45's, I bet it will be a little better 😀.

I am thinking of adding some anti-freeze to it, to shut hte pump up a bit ... it's a little annoying.

I wouldn't if your rez has any acrylic in it. some additives adversely affect it and will cause it to crack and leak. I had that happen to me when I first got into water cooling.

didnt u say you were gonna RMA the pump?

lol... you decided to live with the noise?

Or did they RMA u one that quick?

the first kink is kinda bad... the one going from res to pci port... is it possible to use a 45 degree?

There's only one kink in my loop, which will get fixed with 2x45degree shots.

The second pump/res from the kit I got was also bad, if not worse then the origonal...I am going to look at something else, maybe ddc + 2xmcp350/mcp355's.

Nice man! Loved doing my loop on my C2Q unfortunately the rig is just a little too small for my liking... now there is only enough room for 1 or 2 drives... + i'd like a little quieter pump (silent freak here)

Good luck on those pumps...had problems with both of mine in my bay reservoir. Went to a variable 655 pump and it was like night and day on noise.

Is there a reason why you have the rad outside the case instead of mounted where the top fan is located? Or did I miss something?

top fan is 140mm..the space was too tight to bother, so I went outside the case, which has worked fine.

you have issues with mcp350's, or mcp355's?
