i am using the 300 watt antec psu.. the pp303xp and it is damn loud. The fan is extremely fast and noisy. I was wondering why this is because i know of several others who own the exact same case and use the same psu although i noticed that for some reason they don't have a power switch and i do.. but besides that they're supposed to be the same psu so says the sticker on the side. I was going to mod it and lower the fan speed but when looking online it says that the fan is 'smart' and will vary with temperature.. is there anyway for me to make it slow down without moding it?

The SmartFan is thermally controlling the fan in the PSU. So the in comparing yours with another system make sure they're the same or close to it. Meaning is your system hotter then whoever your comparing it to? Or is there another source of heat that's close to the power supply?

Course if it's always running at full, you might want to give Tech Support a call and see if there's anything else you can do or if you need to RMA it (ie faulty sensor or some such).
