Antec 1200 review

A bit pricey, but at least they include 6 adjustable fans for every opening.
Pity they havent gone with the dual psu opening in the back, but i guess now you can just jam it up front thanks to all the space.

They did say it was the loudest case they tested in their lab (with the fans on high)
They also said what type of fans the case uses, look up the fans DBA ratings on high, medium, and low speed, and do the appropriate math and voila! Not trying to be rude, but not everything in life gets handed to you on a silver platter. Excercise your brain!

I like some of the ideas used in the case. Also the fact that they colored the inside of the case as well, huge + for those into showing off their cases. IMO they took a slightly above average case (the 900) and fixed things that were wrong about it. Not bad at all.

EDIT: On another note, I picked up another rocketfish today for $31.35 ($20 BB rewards coupon) Planning to mod the crap outta this one, just waiting on some ideas to strike my fancy.

I just can't stand the window design. were I to buy one I would have to chop out that window and mesh area and just make it all a window. Looks to me like it would fit dual power supplies with a smaller one up top w/ a TEC chiller up there with it, Could mount something like a 480GTX off the back where the dual 120mm fans are to cool the hot side of the chiller and a dual DDC should fit at the bottom next to the main power supply. *nudge-nudge 😉 😉 *

Antec 1200 is my immediate choice if i screw up on modding the SonataIII. And I agree with Derwen... Side window sucks, I like that clear side panel, no thingies on it, no fancy cuts, just a well placed fan. Same thing with the Antec 900, only this one is better overall.

Not sure why the side-window is so objectionable. I wish there were better "views" -- OK, now I see them. OK.

This looks as though it might have equal or better cooling potential in comparison to CM Stackers -- barring any comparison to the Stacker 830's.

Especially, I like the double 120mm exhaust fans. With an equivalent intake, adding the top (exhaust?), one could work some wonderful mods on this case with less effort than otherwise needed -- if any such mods have an advantage.

I'd also keep abreast of prices on this beast, since it's essentially a steel case. I'd say the initial release prices will drop sooner than one might expect for, say, the Stacker 830.
