Can anyone with this case open any other Antec case with the keys supplied with it?
If that's the "case", i'm laughing at it... for the price, they should make every set of locks different enough for keeping others away from your PC. At least to me, without seeing other cases & their keys, the set of keys looks pretty generic, strongly suggesting they really don't bother making more than 1 kinds of keys&locks. But is it so?

I think the point is less in security and more in keeping curious little children or other hazards away from your internal components.

EDIT: Oh, and if you don't have any experience with this case you definatly shouldn't be laughing at it yet.

Swanny is correct. You're missing the point of these locks. They are not meant for absolutely security. They are intended only to make the power and reset buttons less accessible to the casual user or toddler who may walk by and inadvertantly punch the reset button right in the middle of a server backup or 100mb download.

I know I have posted a thread about these cases (1030 and 1040) and I am sold on it. Whether the lock is bomb proof or even keyed unique or not from what I gathered the case seems to be at or near the top of everyones list.

Don't get me wrong, overall, I love the case.. Nonetheless I still find it a little disappointing keys are universal. Kind off annoying when one has relatives who like to "borrow" things when owner is not around, like ram, dvd-rom's & burners, etc. Or just nosey in to check if they could make some "static" ;)

In the end, there isn't case of this quality for same price, at least where I live so it is pointless to complain. I guess I need to put my computer in a safe to keep it safe :)

P.S. Would really love Aopen style slide-out tray, I hope Chieftec or whomever makes these cases comes up with new design that has it included

if you've ever used one of these cases you would know that there is p-l-e-n-t-y of room that makes up for no removable motherboard tray

Not only that, but the plastic is so flimsy that it could be pulled right off with little or no effort. Making the locks unique would be pointless anyway.

sounds more like you need a door lock for your bedroom/computer room... it's not like i have my computer sitting on my front porch waiting for someone with a universal key to open it. it's locked away inside my house, where only invited guests are allowed. and if you cant keep the invited guests from rummaging thru your stuff, it's not because of the faulty case lock. you apprarently need to put your foot down and let the relatives know not to mess with your stuff..
