Antarcica on Socket 775 i975X?

Hello there, im pretty much new here.
I wrote the following in the Asetek support forums, but there were harldly anyone responding. So this is sort of my next place to ask 🙂

I've had the Asetek KT12AT-L30 power kit for some time now and i like it alot, the only thing i am concerned about is how the Socket 775/T Antarctica Lid will fit the upcoming Conroe platforms. After the reviews i've read about Conroe im most definitely sure i will get a Conroe and a i975X motherboard when Conroe is finally out in the retail stores.

Then i saw something rather disturbing.. There are transistors dangerously close to the CPU socket on all the i975X-boards i know of.

Like this ASUS P5WDG2-WS for example:

Will the Socket T/775 Antarctica fit the boards with that layout?
And will the Asetek WaterChill NorthBridge blocks fit the chipset on the i975x?

As much as i love my Asetek kit, i would hate to set it aside because of compability problems.

Thanks in advance

are you talking about the resistors in the middle right below where the cpu would sit

or the capacitors beside the socket?

Hi BassBomb, Im talking about both, really...

On all the motherboards I've had a closer look at, it seems like there is too much capacitors/transistors around the left side and the upper side of the CPU-socket.

This makes me very disturbed since I'm going with the Conroe as soon as It's launched completely.
Some people over at Asetek's own forum claimed that the Antarctica socket 775 lid wouldn't fit any 975-boards, which turned out wrong since someone actually DID get the block in place with only nudging one single capacitor a little.

Basically i want someone with good experience with the Antarctica block to verify that it does or does not work, seems like i have to go with stock cooling otherwise.

Well if you have to go with stock cooling and need to get rid of your Waterchill- sell it to me!! I'm just taking a plunge into watercooling and heard that the Asetek Waterchill's are some of the best- I'm currently looking for one.

Hope you find the answer to your question. I'm also thinking about going with Conroe once it is released. I'm currently running FX-60 on Asus A8R32-MVP DLX.
