I was just trying to figure out what the deal with my card was. I had a ODM/OEM 8500 and it did 300/300 right out of the white box, I didnt do the Bios Flash nor the Voltage mod
I couldn't understand why my Vmem is 3.5 and not the OEM default of 3.15Vmem, and able to run 300/300 without the bios flash nor a voltage mod.
(Trust me Im not complaining just trying to figure this mystery out so I can help others) This OEM came from Royal Pc and is a China made card. I also wanna thank the OEM manufacturer that made this card as I am sure ATI would be pissed that this OEM is as fast or faster than the $299 retail box.)
The deal with my OEM was the card was really a RETAIL card but somehow got flashed with OEM BIOS and the Vmem was the same as a retail 8500
If you go to this database I put together using 3 different forums asking for help I have solved a few questions many of you with the OEM card may have.
Heres an excerpt:
The reason the BIOS FLASH isnt the magic bullet is due to the fact that there is a Voltage issue that the BIOS FLASH DOES NOT RECTIFY, BUT MACCI DID COME UP WITH A SOLUTION The Link below tells you how to fix this undervoltage issue, then the BIOS FLASH SHOULD WORK AS FIRST THOUGHT
Scroll to the bottom of this thread to read info about the Database I put together, there is info on hard to check your Vmem and how to fix your Vmem if your brave enough to do so
Heres the SLORB (BLUE ORB WITH SOLID SILVER BASE I MADE FOR IT BUT USED AND ALPHA PAL 15u Instead and I slapped on my trademark Silversinks)
-Scroll down the whole thread as I added many pictures-
SLORB I made and Silversinks and Alpha Pal 15u on my 8500
