Is there a preferred order to this?

  • ZOMG!!! You should assume stance of dominance!

  • Meh, doesn't matter

  • I always dominate my hand (for you unattached members)

My voice mail doesn't say who you have called. It's the automated message that came with the voice mail. If you don't know who you called, you shouldn't be leaving me a message anyway.

We used to have a message my girlfriend recorded but the unit was destroyed in a lightning strike surge last summer. The new machine has a default robotic voice that asks the caller to leave a message and it must scare off certain callers since we don't get nuisance messages anymore.

Correct, never give out your name for potential stalkers/bill collectors/etc. :whiste:

"Sorry the person you called is not available right now, please leave a message after the tone".

That's no more of an issue than making sure she's careful when she sets her purse down; wouldn't want your testicles to get crushed in there.

As long as you don't let your son do the recording. God, I can't stand that.

Neither, no names. "You have reached 837-5309, please leave a message, thank you."

Who the hell cares? Since you do, I suggest using the format:

Mr. and Mrs. [your first name] [your last name] and son.

Leave the son's name out and the wife's name out FTW

It actually goes like this, "Hello, you've reached the Maximus residence, Mrs Jules, Jules, and Little Jules Maximus, we aren't here to take your call so please leave your name and number and we'll get back to you."

So in fact it doesn't even contain her name, but Mrs your name?

404 problem not found.

So, I'm listening to our answering machine message my wife recorded and I realized she puts her name first, mine second, and our son's name last.

Issue or non-issue?

I'm sure this will make for some interesting conversation. Personally, I don't give a shit. She did take my last name when we married after all. :p

"Hi, you've reached the Maximus household. We don't really want to talk to you, so either fuck off and die...or leave a message and we'll get back to you...or not."

It's funny with stuff like this I noticed recently that whenever I'm doing the communication I tend to put my wife fist then me then my son.

When my wife does a communication of sorts she puts my name first then hers then our sons.

Update: I brought it up to my wife tonight and after we stopped laughing she said, "hold on a second, I'm pretty sure I said your name first." Sure enough, we went and played it and she was right. It was early this morning, I'm getting over a cold and I was half listening to it while pouring my first cup of coffee... and it has been the same message for the last 8 years.

BTW-She liked PingSpike's response to this thread. :p

My wife PWNED me... which is fine with me. She can PWN me anytime she wants. :D

Reminds me of the "bullshit" at work... I typed up meeting minutes, listed the attendees by alpha, then was told to change it so that the managers were at the top... I'm practically obligated to give them a <any>-job if asked, names too? Yes, I know it's tradition and "respect", still lame.
