Anoying Messenger in WinXP RC2

I have a copy of WindowsXP RC2 running on my computer, at various stages when i'm online the windows messenger icon appears on the task bar(near the clock). I have set it not to start up when windows starts but when i go online the icon appears again, i shut it down, it appears agian and so on and so on.

Does anyone know how i can remove it from the system, either by a registry hack or some thing else..

I tried renaming the .exe but it doesn't let me 🙁

Cheers.
