Hello everyone, long time reader, first time poster here!()
Currently looking for some guru advice regarding what GPU I should be looking at. My budget equals around 160 Euros though I'm willing to go over that if I can justify the performance gains.
I cannot upgrade other parts of my computer apart from possibly my harddrive to an SSD of equal cost - though it'll have to be one or the other.
The games I want to play (with highest possible quality): Shogun Total War 2, World of Warcraft
The resolution I play with: 1680 x1080
As far as my computing knowledge can tell, I've identified my GPU as the weakness.
My Specs:
Corsair HX620watt
Intel e8400 @ 3.6 ghz (Zalman 9700 cooler)
Asus P5Q-E
4GB OCZ Platinum PC6400
Asus 8800GTS 512mb
Windows 7 64 bit
I've looked at 460 GTX 768mb cards and the performance gain looks substantial using Anandtech Bench.
Ideally I'd like to spend as little as possible but I don't think I can get a great deal like I did with my 8800GTS 512 at the time
.
Cheers,
Bobh
