Hello everyone, long time reader, first time poster here!():)

Currently looking for some guru advice regarding what GPU I should be looking at. My budget equals around 160 Euros though I'm willing to go over that if I can justify the performance gains.

I cannot upgrade other parts of my computer apart from possibly my harddrive to an SSD of equal cost - though it'll have to be one or the other.

The games I want to play (with highest possible quality): Shogun Total War 2, World of Warcraft

The resolution I play with: 1680 x1080

As far as my computing knowledge can tell, I've identified my GPU as the weakness.

My Specs:

Corsair HX620watt
Intel e8400 @ 3.6 ghz (Zalman 9700 cooler)
Asus P5Q-E
4GB OCZ Platinum PC6400
Asus 8800GTS 512mb
Windows 7 64 bit

I've looked at 460 GTX 768mb cards and the performance gain looks substantial using Anandtech Bench.

Ideally I'd like to spend as little as possible but I don't think I can get a great deal like I did with my 8800GTS 512 at the time :(.

Cheers,

Bobh

Well, he said euros so he might not be from the US. What are the prices over there?

Thanks for the replies.

Unfortunately I am from Euroland, Holland to be exact.

These are a list of prices I've converted into dollars of the cheapest deals available.

It seems most cards are way more expensive over here than in the USA through just pure conversion.

Gigabyte 460GTX 1GB: $ 221
Asus 460GTX 768mb: $180
MSI 460 GTX Hawx 1GB: $233

Asus 6850: $200
Powercolor 6870: $248

Gigabyte 560: $290

Sapphire 6950: $290

Sapphire 5770: $140

Cheers,

Bobh

No brainer,, just like 8800 GT ruled the world at one point. Get a 460 768mb from american site. 108 dollars after rebate that guy said. That is your best bang for the buck,,,gl

I would get this:

Asus 6850: $200

the GTX 460 768MB is 20$ less but the 6850 is more at the heels of GTX 460 1 GB in terms of performance.
