I'll be ordering parts for my next system in the next day or so and would welcome feedback and suggestions that anyone may have on my list.

Antec PLUS880
EPOX EP-8K3A
AMD Athalon XP 1900+
Arctic Silver 3
Swiftech MC462-A
512MB Crucial PC2100 DDR (I already have this sitting in a box on my shelf)
Western Digital WD1200JB "Special Edition" 120GB HDD w/8MB cache
Toshiba SD-M1612 16X DVD, 48X CD-ROM
Sony 1.44MB FDD
VisionTek Xtasy GeForce4 It 4400 (seriously thinking about moving up to the Xtasy 4600)
Hercules Gaming Theater XP
Linksys 10/100 NIC

I'll also be picking up a Belkin OmniView SOHO 4 port KVM with 6ft OmniView All-In-One Pro PS/2 cable kits, 3
Sunon 80mm, 39CFM fans for the case and some rounded ATA133/100 aluminum shielded HDD and FDD cables.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Looks to be a great system :)

I hope you enjoy it!

BTW, IMHO the move to a 4600 would rock...albeit more expensive

I just ordered a new setup and one of my requirements was low noise level. The last system I built sounds like an airplane. I think I remember reading that the swiftec fan, while an excellent cooler, is rather loud. I bought a Thermatake volcano 7 which I've read is relatively quiet.

I tried to get a quiet power supply (enermax 'whisper') and hard drive (seagate barracuda) as well.

After 2 loud systems, I want one I can barely hear when I turn it on!

Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

InsaneMorphius - I think I will go with the 4600. Might as well do it right the first time.

joelryan2k - I know quiet is really important for a lot of people but personally I like 'em loud. :)

Go with the 4600 you won't be dissapointed. I got mine a month ago so not sure if it holds true now but Visiontek was shipping the 4600's with no VIVO cabel or Power Director software included. You have to go fill aform on the website to get it shipped to you. Might not matter to you but thought you should know.

I want the VIVO cable and software but having to wait isn't a problem for me, I would just be using it for fun anyway. Thanks for the heads up though. :)
