ANOTHER VPN Question. :(

Sorry bout this fellas. i'm having a hard time gettin this vlan stuff.

anyway, i wanna connect to my server via vlan from home. i got a static ip address inside a dhcp server that is mapped to an external ip address. that part is simple. i'm Using W2K Pro and using the connection wizard I set up the vlan, only problem is it keeps looking for a modem and dialup. i wanna connect via my cable modem. can anyone help me with this. what am i doing wrong?

sml,

yes thank you, i mean vpn.

basically w/ the w2k pro i'm at right now, when i use network and dialup connections to set up a vpn it seems to want to dial modem to establish the connection. but since i have a cable modem here that would seem redundant. can i establish a vpn / or server client type relationship with my server that has an external IP address from here?

OK

did some research and i found what i think is the answer. I didn't have PPTP protocol installed and that's why the vpn wizard would only allow me dialups.
