I need a video card for up to USD$180. It has to be AGP also. I was looking at these cards:

-Radeon 9600Pro
-GeForce FX5900XT

However, if you guys could recommend a better card within the range/comment on how these two compare... it would be highly appreciated.

Used 9800 pro, eBay has 9700 pros for ~$150 new (buy now, no bidding). The 5900XT is a good card, but the 9700 pro is cheaper and much better in DX9.

I wouldn't be very comfortable buying cards off eBay. No warranty, and damage during shipping means insta-loss.

How much is a 9800 pro retail?

If the seller has near 100% and a DOA policy, it's pretty safe. The positive feedback on eBay is a pretty valuable and hard to buildup. 9800 pros are still $200 but the new 6600GT will drive them down if you want to wait.

99.5% positive feedback and a DOA policy. This is not some Joe, this is a business using eBay as the global store front. I do not know this guy, it was just an example. I bought my 9800 pro in the same fashion as this link, worked fine. These guys ship fast and don't charge tax.

for under $180, it's the best unless you can score a used 9800 pro (not SE, EZ, Atlantis, etc.).

Yes, those are FPS. Take a look at FarCry to see how newer DX9 games run compared to the FX series.

9700 pro: 35.3 fps
5900XT: 17.0fps

The 5900XT is $170 retail without shipping or tax.
