I got some money back from taxes and am considering upgrading my system a little bit. It runs fairly well but I'll be moving to vista and would like to continue to play current games. I'd like to up the memory and switch to a quad core as well as a new video card. I game at 1680x1050. My limit is around $450 so switching to i7 is out and moving to amd I don't think would quite be worth it for the money.

My specs:

E6550 @ 3.33 (up to 3.4 stable 475fsb)
Tuniq Tower 120
Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R
Super Talent 2x 1GB DDR2 @ 950Mhz 4-4-4-8
EVGA Geforce 8800GTS 640MB @ 625/2000
WD Velociraptor 300GB 10k RPM
Few other SATA II drives
OCZ StealthXStream 600W

The upgrade I'm considering:

Q8200
G.Skill 2x 2GB DDR2 1066Mhz $215 for CPU & RAM (newegg combo)
XFX GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 $170 (newegg)
or
MSI Radeon 4890 $220 (zipzoomfly)
Total: $385 / $435

You suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'm also doing this to increase overall response/speed of applications in addition to Crysis/GTA4 performance in case anybody questions dual to quad.

not worth the cost IMO.
get the video card for gaming, and the RAM if going 64bit (cuz it's dirt cheap).

quad will not help much, if at all, for games.
