Another thumbs up for the H50

Just wanted to post my experience with the H50. Even though its not new, I figured I would throw another review out there.

I have been running a Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 on my i7 920 @ 4 ghz for the past 9 months. Although my CPU is 100% stable at stock voltage, one of the cores was hitting 82 celsius under 100% load. I figured stepping up to the Noctua NH-D14 would probably only get me a couple of degrees difference and not wanting to do the full blown water cooling thing, I decided to tryout the H50.

This was going into my HAF932 so I had plenty of choices of where to put the radiator but I didnt want to screw up the airflow the case had already. After some Google searching on HAF932 and H50 I found some other sites with some ideas. Turns out that a 120mm fan fits perfectly between two 5.25" drives and a memory card reader in the HAF932 with the 3 extra bays between. A couple of zip ties and I was ready to go.

I decided on replacing the stock fan of the H50 due to less than stellar reviews and went with 2 x Gentle Typhoons (1450 rpm) in push-pull. I fired everything up and was surprised to see the hottest core not getting over 72 celsius and the coolest at 62 celsius. This is a 10 degree celsius drop across the board under Intel Burn Test. Idle temps remained pretty much unchanged ranging from 36 to 40 celsius depending on core. Ambient temps are 24 celsius.

Overall I am pretty impressed by this thing, below are some pics.
