What I find odd is... you don't think your mom should tell you not to smoke because she doesn't/didn't tell your brother not to. Now you don't think your dad should tell you not to move in with a S/O, because he doesn't/didn't tell your brother not to? I sense some underlying issues with your family in general. Dunno.

I have read that also.

From personal and observed experience. The games played in living together don't fly
