Cogman
Lifer
Here is the conversation I had with him.
Andy says:
hey i have a question
Andy says:
its about my comp
Andy says:
it keeps randomly saying win32 has crashed and shuts down all the time
Andy says:
i reformatted it and it still does it to
Cogman says:
humm, It could be a cooling issue, Does it do it when you do hardware intensive stuff? (IE Playing 3d games like counterstrike or Halflife)
Andy says:
umm i dont play many games but it could be
Andy says:
my fan is working
Cogman says:
Do you know what kind of motherboard and CPU you have?
Andy says:
no
Andy says:
an old one it takes a card pentium 2 processor
Cogman says:
humm, then I do doubt that cooling is the problem
Cogman says:
(pentium 2's are not notoriously hot)
Cogman says:
It could be an Issue with the memory
Cogman says:
How much memory do you have (your running windows XP correct?)
Andy says:
ya
Cogman says:
here just a sec
Andy says:
ok
Cogman says:
click on Start and then control panel and tell me what you see
Andy says:
options
Andy says:
that are usually under my computer
Cogman says:
Are they things like Accessibility Options and Add Hardware or is it diffrent?
Andy says:
ya
Cogman says:
Yes they are the first or yes they are diffrent?
Andy says:
the first
Cogman says:
ok, could you double click on the system Icon and
Cogman says:
Tell me what it reads under Computer:
Andy says:
it doesnt have system
Cogman says:
Just a sec Ill see if I can get my computer to look like yours does right now.
Andy says:
i found system properties
Andy says:
and the error was system32 crashes
Cogman says:
humm, Well im thinking that the System Ram may have been corrupted, That or the PSU is going bad
Any thoughts?
