Dodge Rams are sexy! Ever since the movie Twister, I have noticed them... best looking truck around, IMHO.

Oh, and no SUVs for us, either.

Best Looking, least reliable, resellable and powerful. I wish Dodge could do something to change that, I like the way they look alot.

Um, no, she is one of the few whom actually uses/needs it!:) With our kids, feed for the horses, her catering business, and the mile or so long private drive we have, she needs it to often to give it up!:)

Ok, slightly OT here but maybe you can help me understand something...

Why do women drive SUVs instead of minivans? Are they 'cooler' or something?

I love my Honda Odyssey... it's safe, handles great, gets good gas mileage, and has plenty of room. I never even considered an SUV. Am I just totally a nerd or something?

Edit: ToBeMe, it makes sense that your wife drives an SUV! I can understand that. I wonder about the moms in my suburban subdivision neighborhood who just go to the mall and back....

Perfect name to describe my personality? You must have special powers, because I can't tell much about people in here after reading 4 or 5 posts from them... enlighten me!

ToBeMe: That comment about the Sherman was meant in jest. :) I know there are actually some people that need all that power and space, and that's fine. It's just people like my roommate that own a 4X4 Expedition that bug me. The largest load it hauls is 6-7 sacks of groceries.

Isla:

Can't speak "overall"....but, my wife does because we live 14 miles out of town and in a very hilly area, plus our drive is very steep at some points......while they do make "AWD" mini-vans now, even the loacl dealer agreed an AWD mini-van could not handle what she needs from a vehicle!;)

Isla - driving a minivan makes them look like soccer moms. Some "professional" women don't want that image

And I'm sick of all these "unsafe" warnings put on vehicles. That highway admin group (or whatever they're called) said last week that the F150 suffered the most damage in some of their testing in head-on collisions - the same F150, the only truck in it's class to receive a 5 star crash rating from the government. It's a double edge sword. That same group called the Chevy Blazer, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota T100, Dodge RAM, and one other suv unfit for the road. Pisses me off when they proclaim every other vehicle on the road "unsafe">

Isla, I think one reason women drive minivans because men also have a hand in the decision-making process - and if they ever need to use the "family car" they don't want to have to drive a <shudder> minivan. :)

Seriously, though, even though minivans are in fact more practical, SUVs look better, typically have better performance (depending on the model), and can be cheaper in some instances. Also, there is a TON of selection and competition right now in the SUV market - they are aggressively marketed and people can find just about any combination of price/size/utility etc. to meet their needs. BTW, I don't drive an SUV, this is just my theory.

And yes, you are a nerd, but not because of the minivan. ;)

I like SUV's. I just can't stand the assholes who don't know how to drive them!

TuffGuy - yep. (Except for that tire-blowout thing on the Explorer) People are too stupid to realize SUVs have a higher center of gravity than a car does and can't take turns at 40 mph
