I am running Windows Me and can't remember if I had this problem under Windows98. Every time I boot my computer it displays an old wallpaper immage for about 10 seconds before loading the current wallpaper, regardless of what my current wallpaper is. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

I should have mentioned, I already tried turning off the active desktop. Any other suggestions?

Do you log in using a username with or without using a password?

If you do don't click the ok button in the login box. Instead click cancel and change to the same wallpaper or remove completely. I believe you will find this to work.

In display properties, chose "none" for your wallpaper selection and then click apply and exit. Go back into display properties, select the wallpaper you want to use, click okay and exit. That should solve your problem.
