Another SSD thread: Kingston HyperX or Crucial M4?

I'm looking at the Kingston 240GB vs Crucial 256GB model.

Kingston uses the Sandforce 2281 controller. Been hearing bad things relating to Sanforce/OCZ. Not sure if I want to go anywhere near those two name brands.

I want to dualboot Mac OSX/boot-camp Win7, but have a feeling it's going to feel cramped.

Crucial is cheaper. I can find a 512GB crucial for $750.

If its a choice between the two, purchase on whatever has the best per GB price.

In benchmarks the Kingston might be faster, but in real world situations I don't think the difference would noticeable.

Crucial SSDs generally have good reliability, I have a C300 with no issues. Sandforce drives may have some issues, BUT, Kingston is a pretty reputable company, I have to think they will support their SSDs properly.

Rather than get spendy on a single large drive for dual boot, how about 2 smaller drives? Probably cheaper in the long run too. Plus if one dies you still would have 1 working drive unless the other dies too!! 😉

I would actually pay more for a Crucial M4 than I would for a Sandforce. And you say that the Crucial is cheaper? There is no contest...
