ANother SLIDESHOW SOFTWARE other than PPT??

HI,

I am wondering if there is a better slideshow maker than Powerpoint XP, i don't wnat to make a fancy presentation, but rather and an entertaining slideshow, but Powerpoint tends to slow down on some pics, so is there another program outthere that would let you do things that powerpoint can let you do?

can PREMIERE DO IT??


My idea i want to make a slideshow that has better sound transition, that is entertaining, it;s going to be a slideshow about a camp i went to and i have to present to the people who went?

You could try Star Office; it's free, MS compatible. looks pretty good.

It'll probably perform the same as PowerPoint though. The problem is likely to be that you are pulling up large pictures at full TrueColor pixel depths. Try down-scaling your images to 256 colors, or at least 64K vs 16 million. Maybe try other picture types as well, sometimes a GIF will pop up faster the JPG, sometimes (usually) JPEG is faster. Try TIFF, PCX...whatever you can generate.

You could try Lotus Freelance Graphics, it's supposed to be pretty good.

Ive made some more entertaining slideshows using Flash, its a little more work, but you can use much better animations, and have more control over sound, navigationa and layout

I was going to suggest Flash as well, but the learning curve is quite difficult if you have never used it. Time consuming even if you know what you're doing. Lotus Freelance, as mentioned before, is probably your best option.

yah i was thinking flash too!! so much cool stuff u can do with it, now if i could only put time into it =)
