Short cliffs

Diebold posts pictures of the master key to all their voting machines on their website.
Some guy makes his own master key from the picture.
... it works

They seem to have found all the wrong people for the job at Diebold.

This thread should of had a poll asking which we would trust more.
A ATOT poll or a Diebold run election?
I know who I would vote for.

No chance. That's money. The american public would never stand for that.

But this... This is just democracy and stuff. Pfft...

If ever there was a case for open-source software, voting machines are it. The government could supply funding, and engineers could develop an open design that would be the basis for voting machine design. In fact, it could be done like the AES competition...various teams could submit proposals and the other teams could try and tear them apart. The AES process is arguably the best approach to security engineering, and I see no reason it wouldn't work with voting machines if you attract enough professional interest.

sounds good to me...

sorry to say though, the crooks that have control over who gets to manufacture them and who gets to choose which ones will be purchased and put to use will never ever let that happen. the stakes are way too high to have the voting process be absolutely honest and accurate.

The good news is, we all know that Democrats are gonna jump right on election reform legislation!
