Tried a reolver just for the heck of it... found I can't stand them. Double action smith & wesson, thinking I just not fond of revolvers....

Then I tried a Glock 17.

Oh my goodness.. almost urinated on myself after peckin with .22's at how much stronger the 9mm was.

Hit the sweet spot of the silhouette with all of my first three rounds. :) :) :)
and this glock had ~ 30000 rounds run through it. Still fired sweet and straight.

Thinking a compensated version of the pistol I've seen around, the 17C would work better overall so the wife could use it too.

I'll admit the Glock was one sweeeet pistol, just working on the recoil tolerance of my wrists...

I would think twice about getting a ported barrel on anything. Yes, the recoil is reduced, but you pay for it in increased muzzle blast. If you want to see what muzzle blast is really like, sit next to a guy shooting a 30-378 Weatherby with a muzzle brake on it :frown:
The recoil on a 9mm is not bad and in time it won't bother you at all.
