One of the Regal theaters in Buffalo - customer and daughter reports bedbugs, and has an adverse reaction, goes to urgent care. I viewed the story with skepticism. But now, it's turning out that more and more people are reporting bed bug bites in that theater, with one couple recording a bed bug on the boyfriend's shirt.

And all this time, I thought it was just lice you had to worry about in theaters.

No bedbugs hanging out in my truck. I can't hear idiots talking on their phones from inside my truck. 2 movies (new movies) for less than the price of one at Regal. And, I can bring in pizza and drinks with me. Win/win/win/win for me.

Or I just wait until I can watch it at home. I rarely have a good experience going to the movie theater anymore even after I moved to a much nicer area.

Pretty much my feelings as well, though if there are a couple of movies that look decent, it's a cheap date night for me and the wife (even with the 17% increase in ticket price) - $14 for the two of us to get in and see 2 movies, Pick up a medium pizza and a dozen wings from the pizza shop near the drive-in, and a few 20oz bottles of soda. Intermission, I'll often stop in their concession stand to support them & get some nachos or french fries. (Best french fries anywhere, and for $3, there are enough fries to feed a large family.)

I love the new leather full recliners they put in the theaters here. I hope they keep them clean because people lay out fully in them all the time. My shoes are off and everything.

The last time I went to a drive-in was in Buffalo too. That was over a decade ago, surprised they still have them. None here.

i love the ones i have at home in my HT. they are like 3 years old and still have the new leather smell.

i would never watch a movie at a drive in. the sound would just be awful compared to that of a theater, my HT included.

and 2 theaters out of how many have bedbugs? this is about as retarded as telling people not to swim in the ocean because of shark attacks, or not to sleep in hotels because the chance of getting bedbugs.

Eww it never even crossed my mind that there could be bed bugs there, but it does make sense... and the 1-2hour you sit on those seats is more than long enough for them to get on you, then eventually in your house.

I heard rumours a while back that some of the hotels here might have bed bugs. That's some scary shit right there, those things spread like wildfire and it's very hard to get rid of if you get them in your house.

Even if you just vacate your house for a week and don't turn on the heat, I think it only kills the live ones, not the eggs.

They closed the dollar theater in my home town due to a bedbug infestation. I'm not surprised though, Ohio is completely infested with bedbugs.

I miss drive in theaters myself, don't think there are any more in the area here.

Where some good times in the past, in general for many reasons.

Just looked for local drive-ins. Found one. 9.50 for adults, 7.50 for kids. Seems pretty pricey for a drive-in. Kids....get in the trunk.

There's a drive-in the town north of me. I haven't been to a drive-in since I seen the first and most classic! Batman. I want to go to the drive-in this summer, but I need to find someone. Maybe check out ID-2 at the drive-in this time. Seen ID-1 in the theater and it was awesome! Like a ride, really.

A quick google search shows more than 2. A little more searching simply suggests being very careful when you go into cities that are hot spots for bed bug activity.

Well for drive in you get mosquito...

One of the drive-in reopen in my area last year and I paid for a visit, $22cad for 3 movies. Had a good time sitting at the back of my 7 seaters in the sleeping bag. Finish @ 3am lol.

I've seen one movie at a theater in the last 10 years; Avatar.
I don't see myself going back any time soon.
Being disturbed by teenagers and attention seekers is not my cup of tea.

Only if they get through my cabin air filter. And if you have to open the windows, a few blasts from the bug spray can before fully opening the window tends to address the issue.

Have not been to a theater in a while but drive-in I'm not completely opposed to.

I just did the math, I averaged $30 per movie night, in the time since I quit and switched to the significantly cheaper on demand options, I saved up 80% of the 55" 4K monitor I bought. My current 120 Mbps line is far from ideal but should be tolerable for 4K movie streams.
