Another RAM question.....

Hey guys I was wondering what all the #s are for for the speeds on RAM .. like 2-3-4-6 or whatever, all I know is the first is CAS latency . And second what is the difference between 1 whole number. Like is their a huge difference between Cas 2 and Cas 3? and what about the other timings are they of any importance, because i've seen some RAM like a <few> sticks of CORSAIR that just tell you CAS, no other timings.

cas matters the most, and you NEED sticks with 2 or 2.5.

ok.. thanks 🙂 .. but like what measurement is it in? Milliseconds in latency that it takes the ram to respond or something?

And are the other #s following it of any importance, what do they represent?

Memory timings are of very little importance. For example, The performance difference between 2-2-3-6 & 3-4-4-8 memory is usually about 3% or so. (cf. http://www6.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20040119/index.html )
