Another Raid question

I'm setting up a raid 0 drive with a pair of SATA raptors and I have a 200Gb Maxtor drive (non SATA) for backup. When I load windows for the first time, the setup disk only seems to recognize the maxtor drive (which I have set to master). Does the windows program have to be loaded onto the Maxtor drive before I setup the Raid array? Also, does a 200Gb drive need to be partitioned in WinXP professional? I have an ICG-7 Max 3 MB.

You have to define your array first - Ctrl-A or whatever keystroke to get into the Raid setup. After that, you need to press F6 when prompted at the beginning of the XP setup routine in order to load the Raid driver from diskette.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. I forgot entirely about the floppy that came with the motherboard. I don't think I've used a floppy disk in years!
