She was telling you she had feelings for you beyond friendship, and was asking if you felt the same or only in a platonic/friendly sort of way twd her. Her &quot;moodiness&quot; was because when you said friends only you were telling her you didn't reciprocate the feelings.

She probably was a bit upset that you didn't understand her intentions. It probably took a great deal of courage for her to tell you that &quot;she has feelings for you&quot; (ie she likes you in a way a bit more than friends). When you just wanted to be friends, it hurt. However, do not go out with her if you don't reciprocate those feelings. She'll only get hurt more in the long run.
