Another question on Quietly Cooling a GF4 Ti4200

Another question I had:

I was looking around and I was wondering if this setup would be better (more silent) to cool the Ti4200?

Install this:
1) Zalman 92mm Fan with Zalman Bracket - ZM-F2 with BR123 Link
Model # FB123
and have it blowing over the video card and unplug the fan on the BlueOrb

or

2) Zalman 92mm Fan with Zalman Bracket - ZM-F2 with BR123 Link
Model # FB123
With this installed Thermaltake Cooler and also unplug the fan and remove that plastic window.

Basically using the Zalman fan to blow air over the Heat Sink thats installed (either a passive Blue Orb or the Thermaltake HS). I would be using the voltage limiter to lower the fan speed (comes with the zalman).

What do you think?

you might want to look into the ZM80A Heatpipe that zalman offers. I think they have a new version out that lets you mount a fan onto it, so that should be perfect for you.

The Zalman nb32j works great as a GF4Ti cooler. Use a low speed 92mm fan blowing across it. This set up will take up a pci slot (my current setup uses 0 pci cards anyway so whoop-dee-do). However, the point is that it is easy to mount, costs $10Cdn, and cools great.

Try the NB-32j. Mine is running fine using it (the only tough part for me was mounting, as I specifically did not want to use adehsive (and I tried it before it became a moderately popular solution, so didn't have anyone else's expereinces to work from, which probably would have made it easier). However, it's been running great (since last august), and the ambient temp is around 85 in the room it's in.
I have a 5-volted old Sunon 80mm (very little air moving, but I don't trust it to work with completely passive cooling)...so any low speed fan with that bracket should do well (I made my own bracket).
