I plan on changing the FSB on my barton, not the multiplier, is that more or less stressful on processor?
It will go from 333 to 400(hopefully)my mobo is a shuttle nf2 ultra 400(An34n ultra 400)

Also, would 3200 ram be the way to go with it, i was planing on getting the 512 buffalo on newegg, how do you guys rate that ram compared to other brands?

this is link to the ram

FSB and Multiplier probably effect the CPU equally.. its the speed (determined by mult and fsb) and voltage that puts stress on the CPU. Multiplier increase would be less stressful on other components because it only effects the CPU, while a FSB increase will give you better results it also puts more stress on other components (ram, buses, components running on those buses, cpu, etc)

If you plan on OC'ing by FSB, then definately get pc3200.. i've heard pretty good things about buffalo.. actually i don't think i've ever heard anyone say anything bad about it.

So i wouldn't need more then pc3200 if i were to make it 400fsb, and if i have 80 dollar ram, and a 60 dollar motherboard, it won't phase me that much if it burns out prematurly, as long as it lasts me a good 8-12 months i am happy.

depends on how much i'm gonna spend on my video card, i'll be spending from 150-300, so if i go below say 220, i'll prolly get another stick.
