Ok let me first say yes I know there are a lot of PSU threads, and I know someone will bitch about somewhere in this thread. (maybe it should have it's own category)

I want a modular Power Supply, and I've narrowed it down to the ModStream 520w or the 550w SuperFlower "Plug-N" w/ 14cm fan. I was going to just get the Modstream since its a name brand and looks better than the superflower. But then I realized the superflower has more amps behind it's rails, so now I have to relook at things. I don't know if more amps always means more stable.

When choosing a PSU, or any other kinds of power output components like amps, you have to make sure you're talking about continuous output watts, as opposed to peak watts. What it means is that the OCZ Modstream will output it's rated watts all the time, whereas I've seen other manufacturers use peak output to say how many watts their psu can output, which is misleading because peak output can only be achieved for short bursts of time, not constantly. So, unless you know for sure, I'd go with the OCZ Modstream psu, because I know when they say 520 watts, it really means 520 watts of continuous output.

I was curious and didnt want to start another threat. Seemed this was appropiate since my question was OCZ Modstream 520 PSU..Actually OCZ52012U EU ? 520W

Well i was wondering why no one in USA can get the OCZ MODSTREAM with PFC. Its not sold in the USA and has a European only label. Now i know alot of power supplies have PFC (POWER FACTOR CORRECTION). What the deal with the OCZ and would it work. Or is the European Motherboards different or what?

thou i did find only one site that did. But didnt state if it would work on American systems.
