he didn't mouth off, he's a damn 100lb kid. You don't threaten someone or do that PERIOD. What if that was your kid or younger brother, would it be 'the right thing' then?Originally posted by: spidey07

What the cop did was earn himself (and his department) a boatload of negative exposure on a national level. Watch Good Morning America tomorrowOriginally posted by: spidey07
What the cop did was completely correct and hopefully this punks will learn something from this. No, means NO.
And the punks learned that a video plus YouTube plus the internet equals power. Ten years ago, nothing would have happened to this guy. Now he's suspended without pay and a scumbag known by millions.
As I already said this happens all the time when you're a skater. The smart ones just bolt, the dumb ones sit there and mouth off.
lets look him up in the white pages or tax records and then call him :evil:Originally posted by: Sumguy
The fact that the officer says his name in the video is a plus.
"He was just like up in my face, yelling at me...then he tackled me," Eric said. "It was like scary because I have diabetes and my blood sugar went crazy 'cause he scared me."
And how do you know they were vandalizing anything?Originally posted by: spidey07
Not on public property when you're vandalizing it you don't. What the cop did was completely correct and hopefully this punks will learn something from this. No, means NO.Originally posted by: jpeyton
Stallowned! Awesome!

Message to young skateboarders: you have rights, and please carry some kind of video recording device with you.

I agree, send all the skateboarders to an island some place.Originally posted by: CasioTech
something has to be done about the scum that is making society worse instead of fighting to make it better.
..around here the skate scum are largely responsible for the graffiti problem. does a can of spray paint come packaged with skate boards??Originally posted by: spidey07
If the skaters would quit ruining public property then they wouldn't have to chase them off like that.
I skated for over a decade and faced this stuff all the time. Goes with the territory.

Absolutely. That kind of disrespect is unacceptable. You don't mouth off to an adult like that, let alone a police officer.Originally posted by: CasioTech

There are consequences to ones actions, the cop taught these kids that.
Well, if he ends up in a wheelchair at least the cops can't throw him to the ground anymore.Originally posted by: waggy
the kid deserved getting yelled at. the cop did cross the line by putting his hands on him and throwing him to the ground.

Seriously, I've had my board taken by cops at LEAST 3 dozen times when I skated. We normally got what we got because some punk ass kid starting mouthing off (sometimes I was one of them). We knew we weren't supposed to be there and if a cop showed up mouthing off or being a smart ass normally led to the consequences.
