Why must every encounter go from 0-100? Is it the official policy to go and shoot the suspect if they are resisting arrest? Is there no in-between where an attempt is made to apprehend the suspect without them loosing their life?
Because thats how they train cops.
"Any encounter can go from 0 to 100 in an instant, so be ready for it!"
Most academies teach them to be suspicious of everybody and get ready for a deadly encounter at any time.
Most departments teach newbs on the street to respond quickly and decisively with violence at every encounter. And the worse part is our police look poorly trained compared to the rest of the world.
There was a thing in the news a few weeks back where Dutch police were visiting New York. on the subway some dudes tried starting some shit and the cops were able to take them both down without weapons.

I think we, as a nation, should take fire arms away from the police and only hire asian police that are experts in the martial arts.
Is that sarcasm? Because I think we should take fire arms away from human police and only hire robots! Just not ones names ED.
Why don't we hire more wisecracking young computer hackers to solve every case by hacking into their database?
Maybe we need a mathematician that can solve cases by using the power of differential equations?
Maybe a 300 year old vampire?
Maybe a combination of these is the solution.

A lot of movies have some dynamo genius kid in a wheelchair hacking, solving equations, and creating vaccines/antidotes. The key to hacking in movies is to try to guess a password three times!

If the robots are Asian and know Kung fu, we're totally on the same page.
