lol. you had trips on the flop, and the other guy figured he had the highest hand of the table with a pair of queens king-high, and saw the other cards as booty-cards, and decided to go all-in. nice!

I would have thought the same, he doesnt suck, i think OPr's sucks for being so mighty for winning a nicely played hand and gloating.

yeah, he doesnt suck... he just didnt bank on the op having pocket queen's. thats why it sucked for him. ive had worse suck-outs occur to me at the casino, though.

At a NL holdem tourney I hosted, at the final table, 4 people were in... two dropped quickly and one pulled a Ace high flush... Went all in. CALLED. Opponent had a straight flush. now THAT was weird. But I guess he sucked too.

Umm . . . he had a pair of queens. The 3's were on the board. The point is he went all in with a hand that he really had no right to. He hadn't cought me bluffing yet, and a raise should SCREAM trips in that sistuation.

ahh, i read it wrong... i just went straight to the cards and assumed you were holding the pair of queens... my bad.

I just dont think you have the right to say he sucks. He had a good hand for what was there, and you had a pocket pair. Nothing screams anything even with a raise. It's poker.

edit: not to mention there were... what, 8 people playing? one of them could have had a Q, 4 or something and folded.

i was right the first time then... and yes, i agree with moped. with so many people around, he prolly banked on the idea that the queen was elsewhere.

edit: sorry about the earlier confusion also, gotta stop drinking so early... 😛

I disagree. Two people tried to limp in, and then called a big preflop raise. This is usually a good sign of pocket pairs, and usually low pocket pairs, because you only have a 10% chance to hit so you want in cheap and lots of callers, but you can easily make 10x the preflop bet even with a large raise. A reraise should have been 'proceed with caution,' not dumping all your chips.

Poker is full of people with more money than sense. Just consider it your job to help balance the equation. 😉

Nice winnings, btw. I'm still playing crappy $.5/$1 until I build my bankroll up a lot more, but I've doubled my money so far.

Agreed. If i were that other guy, i'd have bet out like he did. Once i got reraised, i'd reraise to get a feel for what i think chu has. Chu probably would have reraised again at which point i'd have him put on AA,KK,22,33 or QQ. More than likely think he has AA or KK due to the preflop betting. 22 & 33 typically get limped in on and QQ is unprobable since I'm holding one and there is one on the board. Then again alot depends on how chu was playing before this hand. If he was loose, i'd probably check and call it down to the end. If he's been tight, fold city after getting reraised again.
