Those prices scare me!
Too good to be true. I'm still worried about my digital camera purchase this weekend with the mpsuperstores/passport.

If you think those prices are scary, look here: shop4digital
They had a Canon G1 for $744 (now $788)!! I ordered one ... found out it was out of stock. Canceled without a problem. Thing with these e-tailers is .... you have to be more persistent than them ... or else you'll get shafted.
The reason why they offer prices like these is they try to get you with accessories, which are way overpriced and second-rate. Never buy the accessories!!

Rebuilder: I ordered a dig. camera from MPSuperstore, too. What'd you get? I got a G1. I called them today to confirm. They processed it and I got a free upgrade to Next Day Air because I need it by Wednesday (in time for Thanksgiving pics).

zeppelin,
Thanks for the update on mpsuperstore! I got the Nikon 990($660). I never researched the new G1. Is it considered better than the 990?

G1 came to $758 (for 2nd day air, but got the next day upgrade). The G1 is a better buy IMHO.
-It has the flash hotshoe, so you can attach a canon flash to get more power behind the flash.
-It has a fold-out LCD screen (similar to those camcorders that have the LCD).
-Doesn't look as funny as the 990 (I don't like the two part construction of the 990).
-Can take microdrives (up to several gigs of storage).
-Comes with a remote control

I'm sure there's more, but can't remember.

Deckard (Bladerunner), if you're gonna spend around $400, then sure the 950 is a good deal. But if you're gonna spend ~$800, then the G1 is my choice. I was comparing with the 990 in my previous post. Plus, the G1 just came out ... so that's why it's not the top-rated camera ... yet.
