My system has stopped recognizing my modem. I think it used to be on COM 3, and now my system only lists COM 1 and 2. I've tried different modem cards, and it still won't come up in either plug & play auto detect or by trying to install it manually. I'm running XP Pro, 1.4 GHz Athlon, ECS K7AMA mobo (ok, maybe buying it was a mistake...), 256 MB DDR, yada yada yada. Any ideas?

Also, try switching the PCI (or ISA, I guess) slot that the modem is in.
Hopefully Windows will detect it if it's in a new slot.

If its a new MOBO make sure you install the MOBO drivers before you install the modem. Miniport routing drivers definitely have a big effect upon your modem.
