Just got my 3ghz chip. Using extremly good air cooling. SP-94 with a modded 92mm Tornado(raise up with a hollowed out 92x25mm fan, to kill the dead spot). Great case temps and cooling.

What is safe voltage for it? 1.7? or should I keep it at 1.65 to make it last out for a year or two. Right now my chip would boot at 247fsb @ 1:1 (3705mhz) but will not run stable so I am at 244fsb now and still testing. I am running 1.7v and wondering if I should keep it there or lower it. Like I said I want to use it for the next year or two. (most likely a year)

1.7v is probably safe. I don't think running 1.65v is only going to let this thing last 1-2 years. The p4c's are a little bit different IMO compared to the p4a's and p4b's.....I ran my p4a at 1.71v for 10 months and sold it almost a year ago and I know it runs that speed today.....

I think 1.65v is safe and no reason why it shouldn't last 5 years, but either way it is likely longer then you will own it.

Often times the 1.7v to 1.65v only yields 3-4 more fsb so I don't think itis worth it. Once you get past 1.6v it goes fast so it is really a toss-up. If you need evry fraction of juice do it, otherwise sit back and don't worry about it.
