For the commuters here at school, they have buses that run from the parking lots to the middle of campus. I ride that bus every day, but that's it as far as mass transit goes.

I use my car to get to work. (about 10 blocks, but down and up hills) When I get there, I use a shuttle bus to get around since I work for a University and frequently have to go from one side of campus to the other.....

Mountain bike = faster than any other means of getting to work for me. It's 30 min by bike, 30-50 by car depending on traffic (usually around 45), and I don't even want to think about how long the buses would take. I'd guess at least 1:15 including waiting on the curb for the damn thing to show up. It kinda sucks when it's cold or rains, but it's still less aggravating than dealing with other drivers.

I have never ridden the bus and would rather be thrown under it than ride it. I live out in BFE which explains the former. The people that I see at bus stops explain the latter.

I take the train every day - my employer pays 100 % of the cost when we take the train so it's a bit silly
to take the car (with the added traffic jams)

Several years ago the bus was my main form of transportation. I lived in a smaller city than I do now, and you could get anywhere in town for fifty cents, and during the week it would the longest I would sit on the bus would be a half-hour to forty-five minutes. The buses were clean, the drivers were friendly, and the weirdos kept to themselves (for the most part). Oh, and I had no car at the time. When I had a girlfriend with a car, we drove it everywhere.

Now I live in a bigger city, and have never used the bus here. It can take 2-3 hours to get places, bus schedules are at awkward times, and (from what I've heard) prices are extortionate. When I had no car, I borrowed one. Then I bought a motorcycle and used it almost exclusively, except in bad weather. Then I got a car, got married, and stopped riding my bike.

So which poll selection should I use? :)

I love ridding the bus. I live about 2 blocks from my bus stop so it is great for me. I wake up walk to the bus stop, get on, read my book for 15- 20 min. Get off walk 3 blocks and I am at work. It is probably just as fast as driving because I don't have to look for parking. I am way to cheap to go to a lot arround here (almost $15 - $20 a day).

I ride pretty much when my car is busted... But there have been several times in my life when I used it as my primary mode of transpo.

Every place in need to go in town I can walk to. I'd prefer to get the excersize anyway. But, when I go back to Tulsa, I drive.

I though this was a thread about mistaken lyrics for Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust". :/
