I'm not sure if this has been changed in NC or if it was ever even a problem, but apparently in a lot of lethal injections one of the drugs in the cocktail caused terribly excruciating pain but since another was a tranquilizer the injectie would look calm but be dying a really really horrible death.

The hippies were trying to get a moratorium on the death penalty in NC because one of the drugs was not on the approved list. For Petes sake...if it works who cares?
