Another normal arrest after normal police behavior in a civilized, free society like ours.

Cops find empties near a woman on the beach
Woman denies they're hers
Cops ask her to breathe into a breathalyzer
She does and comes up negative
Cops ask her for her name
She refuses to provide her last name since she hasn't done anything wrong
Cops tell her they're going to arrest her
Woman tells them to leave her alone and tries to walk away
Cops tackle and beat the shit out of her as they arrest her.

Cool. Police definitely don't feel empowered to an absolutely frightening degree. Let's keep pretending these animals are "protecting and serving" and not just a bunch of authoritarian thugs with no accountability at this point.

When faced with cops, they should treat them like they were at the beach with a nearby shark, or a bear on a trail. You can't control what these predators do, they won't respond to "logic" or "right and wrong", your best course is to avoid them altogether. Move away quickly if you spot them, but not quickly enough to trigger their hunting instincts. If you can't do that, hunker down and don't provoke them further, and hope they don't maul you to death. Whatever you do, don't make eye contact, be as inoffensive as possible to avoid triggering their ego-driven challenge response. These types of beasts welcome a direct challenge to their supremacy, and will rapidly escalate to violence if they deem one exists.

It'll be interesting to see current and upcoming generations and how they deal with police. Growing up, I certainly didn't get to see the types of videos that come out regularly now--not that the same shit didn't happen, it was just happily (for the cops) out of sight of most of America.

NJ is not a stop and identify state, therefore the cops were in the wrong. Unless they had reasonable cause which wasnt in the article.
