1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Gaming (Skyrim, TitanFall, Civ5, COD, Starcraft II)
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
$1000 - $1500
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
USA
5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
No Brand Preference
6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
Case, PSU (Seasonic X650 Gold), Optical Drive, Win7 Ultimate 64bit
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Overclock
8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?
1920 x 1080
9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Ordering parts this week
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.

X. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?
Have Win7 Ultimate 64bit to load on system.

I have a Microcenter 3 miles from home/work I pass twice a day going to and coming from work so I'll use them for the CPU/Motherboard.

I'm using Amazon for the SDD and GPU based on an ability to net a 15-20% discount on Amazon prices.

Thoughts on this setup ? Aftermarket CPU cooler?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Hmmm....you can afford it, but that seems like you're spending a lot on the MoBo for the Asus Pro, bundle is ~$315, right? Any reason why the Asus z87-A doesn't meet your needs for $50 less, or the MSI G41 for ~$100 less?

At $130, the 240GB Seagate 600 series is probably a better deal than the EVO.

Pocketing that $130 gets you almost to the GTX 780 on the same budget.

If you're OC'ing, I'd def get an aftermarket HSF. The CM EVO is only $30 @ MC. The Arctic Cooling ACFZ130 is a fine pick at ~$40 also.

 Add the ASRock Z87 Extreme3 to the list of boards to consider as well.
