Another Movie Rant Thread

am i the only one says WTF with all of these obvious 'clues' at the end of a movie pretty much indicating a sequel is coming out?

Some examples are: The Joker thing at the end of Batman Begins, the last minute of Fantastic Four focusing on Doom, the Phoenix thing at the end of X2 (I won't count the end of a Star Ep 4: A New Hope where Vader flies off in his Tie Fighter 🙂 )...

It takes away from seeing the trailer of the sequel for the first time when you didn't expect a sequel to come out...(like T2, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back, etc)...

does this need a spoiler alert???

/end of weak rant.... 🙂

In some of the trilogy sequences it makes sense. the first xmen movie was essentially one big setup for the series. X2 sets up the third, and so forth.

If knowing there is a sequel ruined a trailor for you then the trailor wasn't good enough to begin with 🙂 The good trailors still make people go "oh man, that looks good - i want to see that!"
Besides what some movie fans really love doing is looking for the subtle clues - such as lists of names on computers in xmen, etc hinting as to what may come (in the movie or in sequels).

Well the sequel to Batman Begins is actually the first Batman movie, with Jack Nicholson as the joker. Because it is a prequel it has to fill in the details for the sequels. The same thing could be said for Star Wars Ep. III.

As far as the other movies go, the writers realized how bad it is so they need to redeem themselves with a sequel.

If that is the case, how could he have given the Joker Card to Gordon at the end of Batman Begins if he doesn't fall into the chemical tank (which turns him into the Joker) until the middle of the first Batman movie??

Batman Begins has nothing to do with Burton's films (Batman and Returns) or Schumacher's (Forever and Robin). It is its own franchise.
