Think about it: How much time do you really spend ogling the exterior of your car or truck? Compare that to the time you spend inside, nestling into the seat, gripping the wheel, twiddling knobs, literally surrounded by the cabin and its details.
Having I'm been saying this exact same thing for years here on this forum??
The only things I don't agree are these two awards:
At the Cobo Center show, where Ford's Thunderbird was named 2002 Car Interior of the Year by Auto Interiors magazine, T-Bird cabin designer Mark Conforzi said the model's interior and exterior were designed side by side.
John Cafaro, chief designer of the acclaimed fifth-generation Chevrolet Corvette, also worked on the Chevy Avalanche interior that took the 2002 Truck Interior of the Year award. And Cafaro attributes the Avalanche's success in part to its novel interior midgate, which folds down to extend the pickup bed into the cabin.
HELLO!!! The new T-Bird has been criticized for having the SAME dash as the Lincoln LS. There's nothing original about it. It was NOT designed along side the exterior of the car. Secondly, the Avalanches interior is straight out of the GM full size pickup/SUV lineup. BIG WHOOP!!
