Another Money Pit! Yay!!!

I drove a 71 VW van for a few years. It was the most driveable vehicle. There is nothing like sitting right above the steering wheels. Visibility was awesome.

Once, on the way to classes, I stopped in front of a house that kept a German Shepard. The dog would chase my van like clockwork. So, I stopped got out and chased the dog. Ah, the memories. 😛

71's are sweet. Last year they used the upright engine (dual port 1600). Disk brakes, IRS suspension.....

ahhh, I loved my 71 westy.... 🙂

I should rue the day I bought a '62 Dodge panel truck to restore. I suppose there was a lot of experience and such gained, but ouch! Cost me a total fortune and months of my labors. I was happy to sell it for half the cash investment alone once I had it in good shape 🙁

Heh. I actually considered that briefly.

This one is in such good shape (relatively) that I don't want to hack it up. The top and rain gutters are perfect. Just the two rocker spots and one wheel well spot are rusted through.

Plus with most of the trim there and in fair shape I'm going to take it as far along the resto path as I can.
