It's all fear mongering & chest thumping for the election. Troops may never actually be deployed at all.

Ruff tuff Donald Trump is here to save us from a boogeyman of his own creation.

No one knows what Trump will do tomorrow, even Trump. Even with some Republicans, it is not a good look.

The Republican electorate is at 100% saturation and no one is going to vote for his team who wasn't already, but people may come out to vote against this scum's party.

Leaked US Army documents assessing the caravan.

"Based on historic trends, it is assessed that only a small percentage of the migrants will likely reach the border."

"Most likely course of action: the caravan dwindles as it nears US; limited Transnational Criminal Organization exploitation and no terrorist infiltration..."

They actually seem more concerned with dipshit Minutemen and the like...

"Estimated 200 unregulated armed militia members currently operating along the southwest border. Reported incidents of unregulated militias stealing National Guard equipment during deployments. They operate under the guise of citizen patrols supporting Customs and Border Protection primarily between Points of Entry."

The caravan spent Wednesday night in Juchitán, a mere 866 miles from Brownsville, TX.

They'll be pounding on the gates by Monday night, right?

Yes, from a strategy standpoint this has rapidly diminishing returns which by now have to be about nothing. It also intensifies all his negatives with people who were leery about him but still may have voted for him in 2016. For instance the peeling away of many Republican voting suburbias from the GOP which is proceeding in haste. That damage looks to be growing and long term.

Mr Trump also said he had told the US military mobilising at the southwest border that if US troops face rock-throwing migrants, they should react as though the rocks were "rifles."
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...military-could-fire-migrants-announces-plans/

Don't know if it was covered in this long ass thread but are folks ok with US troops killing migrants who try to cross the border? If they resist apprehension? If the situation deteriorates and someone throws a rock, should they be killed?

Are we as a nation ok with the US military killing migrants and refugees trying to come to this country for a better life?

I'm assuming they will get to the border, be detained and processed at the border and returned to their home countries so the above question is hypothetical

Yes or no? Oh, amnesia/can't remember excuse, eh? Typical of you. Now go back to your corner and keep obsessing about my penis.

wtf are you talking about? seriously, I don't keep up with useless shit like that, but it is clearly very important to you. So inform me if you actually want a response. Otherwise, this type of passion you have for such nonsense is a bit disturbing.

Are you on the spectrum or something? Honest questions.

Pres. Trump Says Rocks Thrown by Migrants "Will Be Considered" Firearms

I saw a good ten minutes of that performance of his today.

Lord Thunderin' Jesus this guy's full of shit. And his rally-ish slamming of Dems in the middle of a Presidential Speech was beyond the Pale. Why people don't see through this guy's lies eludes me entirely. Same planet, different worlds

Trump learned from his pal BB that gunning down and massacring brown people throwing rocks at you from the other side of a wall was great optics for your base!

I'm not even joking.

The Military issued a Statement regarding this, reaffirming the current policy, which is basically the Military will only fire if there is immanent/inescapable danger.
I'd love to ask the career Army person I know if that directive has been discussed but she is a true good Military person, mostly stays out of Politics and won't insult the President.
Her take on the grand Parade was "If the President asks we will perform a Parade provided its possible and not barred by the City"

Thats complete HORESHIT, your brain is just damaged.

When the farming industry was vastly more labor intensive: LET THIS SINK IN BECAUSE YOU'RE SERIOUSLY STUPID: We didn't resort to using mostly illegal labor!

The demand for labor WENT DOWN, not up.

There was NO NEED what-so-ever to make the industry rely on illegal labor, when it didn't before.

The only reason a first world person won't and can't compete with illegal labor, is because first world people don't accept third world working conditions and wages. But then, yours is a sub third world mindset.

Just a little tidbit if you really want your target to read your post you might want to hold of on the insults until the end of your post not at the beginning.

I found out about this tonight. This is an official threat assessment of the fearsome Caravan of Satan.

https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/5026468/SWB-Operations-TWG-27OCT18.pdf

Key points-
  • Immigrants are 800 to 2000 miles away from potential entry depending on the route taken.
  • Expected number reaching the borders is about 1400 people due to attrition.
  • There will be no terrorists
  • Criminal presence is of little to no serious consequence
The greatest threat to the operation is projected to be theft of equipment by militia roaming the border.

There is no military operational reason to be moving people now, it is an expense which draws from legitimate actions and the presence of troops is of little to no value in terms of border protection.

Even the military know the whole thing is a farce.

so, as always, conservative WASPS are the greatest threat to Americans and the absolute greatest purveyors of violence and criminal activity against the American people. Gee, I guess the absolute fact that rightwingers are responsible for 75% of the terrorist violence in this country over the last 30 years seems to correlate with what yet another largely-conservative group has found, yet again, in the linked assessment.

Dude, Trumptards cream their pants whenever an Israeli murders an unarmed Palestinian on the other side of the wall. It's the happiest place that they can ever find themselves: The necessary bloodbath to bring about their great lord and messiah, The Jesus. This is just the same thing. There isn't a single Trumptard that doesn't want all of these people to be murdered in a hail of gunfire, at the hands of our godly US Military.

That's a fact.

Let's see what a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff thinks of the troop deployment.
GEN(R) Marty Dempsey‏Verified account @Martin_Dempsey

Our men and women in uniform are better trained, better equipped, and better led so they meet any threat with confidence. A wasteful deployment of over-stretched Soldiers and Marines would be made much worse if they use force disproportional to the threat they face. They won’t.

So now those in the caravan are demanding Mexico provides bus transportation for them? First, they rejected multiple offers from Mexico and now this? Good luck Mexico. You guys better do it or will be label as "hater", "racist", "xenophobic" <insert more *ist labels here>. /s

https://www.yahoo.com/news/migrant-caravan-must-walk-mexico-155833192.html

I am planning my trip overseas soon. I am demanding the governments of Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other nearby countries such as China and Russia to chip in for my airfare and expenses. I am demanding asylum from the oppression of DT and the current administration in the US. Better do it or I will sue you guys in court.

Just braking now. The Pentagin refused a Tryno request for troops to provide emergency law enforcement services at the border.

Which they should deny as its illegal for them to do so.

This whole thread is a great example of Trump having a good point and a tiny good idea but simply making it all about him and fucking everything up.
His threat to reduce aid to countries that cannot address the flow is a decent idea. Assuming we are giving money to somewhere to be less of a shit hole and they become more of a shit hole why send money?
Sadly the President does not like making plans or addressing anything long term and is pretty heartless regarding people in poverty.

Actually cutting off the, very small (couple hundred million a year), existing aid is universally viewed as a terrible idea that will make the problem worse.

So naturally that's what we're going to do then wonder why it didn't help.

I'd take the $3B a year we give Israel and spend it here instead along with political initiatives that pressure local governments to increase security/reduce violence.

exactly, Trump bumbled on to a good point. He just did his usual thing and totally failed by making it all about him and not compromising.
Regarding the couple hundred million, if its known to be funding the reason why these asylum seekers are leaving than stop doing that.
Again this could have been a great moment for both-sides (my first both-sides reference ever) but the President is so incompetent nobody talks about it.
